Giving back to the tech community: a mentorship success story

Over the past year, I've had the privilege of mentoring a talented young UX design student named Mateja in her final year of university. Our journey together has been both rewarding and enlightening, as we worked hand in hand to prepare her for the transition from academia to the professional world.

How did the mentorship look like?

Over the year we had on-site meetings in which we started a mentorship program aimed at equipping her with the skills and insights necessary to thrive in the competitive field of UX design. Our primary goal was to create a clear vision of the type of role she aspires for and to help her develop a portfolio that showcased her capabilities and soft skills.

She crafted a portfolio using Webflow, a platform that allowed her to showcase her design projects in an engaging and professional manner. She created two case studies and in our meetings I provided her tips and tricks on how to stand out.

At the end of the mentorship we have managed to achieve our goal - she is now working as a junior UX designer!

Congrats Mateja, I wish you all the best!
